What Happens During
Your Tummy Tuck?
During a tummy tuck, you’ll be given medications and sedated to help make the procedure as comfortable as possible. Then Dr. Vennemeyer will make a horizontal incision in the area between the belly button and the pubic hair and then pull down the upper abdominal skin for trimming. A new opening for the belly button is created, and the remaining incisions are closed, for a flatter, firmer abdominal area.
What is the Recovery Process
for a Tummy Tuck?
Some people may experience some soreness or a pulling sensation, but this is normal and will ease over time. It can take up to three months for all of the swelling and bruising to completely fade away, but most patients can return to work after a week or two. It may take up to six weeks for your energy level to return to normal.
